First Thai PADI Course Director & PADI Ambassador

PADI Ambassdiver

what’s required and how to begin using your study materials.

What Can You Expect?

• The Instructor Development Course (IDC) is conducted as a complete program, or may be split into two components: the Assistant Instructor (AI) and Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) courses.

• The IDC emphasizes learning and development – not evaluation. Your PADI Course Director is your coach and the instructor development staff are your allies throughout this course (and beyond). This allows you to build confidence and improve performance in a low-stress environment.

• You begin your course with IDC eLearning, ideally before participating in classroom sessions and inwater workshops with your Course Director. Learning necessary background information on your own makes the time you spend developing teaching techniques with your Course Director more effective.

• You’ll learn to conduct all PADI core courses with your Course Director. You’ll learn to organize and present information, conduct skill development sessions and control open water dives. Some key topics include:

- PADI Standards and procedures for courses you can teach - Dive theory for dive leaders

- Learning, instruction and the PADI System

- Risk management and diver safety

- The business of diving and your role as an instructor

Required Paperwork

• Your PADI Course Director or Dive Center may send you a request to complete required administrative forms electronically. Simply click on the link and follow the prompts as directed. You’ll either sign in to your PADI account or create an account, then complete the forms.

• Your Course Director or PADI Dive Center may have you complete administrative forms in person or may have you complete additional local forms.

• A medical form, signed by a physician and attesting to your fitness to dive within 12 months of the course start date, is required for both the IDC and IE.
